My grandmother taught me to knit when I was five, but I don't remember making anything useful until the summer I turned twelve. That year, I made mittens and hats for every member of my family. It's also the year I learned to "take control" of my knitting by adapting 2-needle patterns to dpns and adjusting sizes based on actual measurements and gauge. I have taught several workshops for my guild, Twisted Threads Fiberarts, and other local groups, along with with one-on-one help. My current passion is for Twined Knitting (Two-End Knitting), a traditional Scandanavian technique.
